ABOUT ME

I am an Assistant Professor in the Instructional Design and Development Program at the University of South Alabama. My research interests are centered on understanding and enhancing the learning experience in technology-enhanced environments, with a special emphasis on both K-12 STEM education and medical education. I develop and implement learning and orchestration technologies to facilitate cognitive and social knowledge construction, collaborative problem-solving, and adaptive instruction. My research encompasses scaffolding techniques, scientific discourse, the inquiry cycle, and the application of mediating tools and visual representations. My approach to research combines design-based methods and a mixed methods approach for robust data analysis and effective presentation of findings.
